Workers at Tyson’s Amarillo TX Beef Processing Plant Approve Landmark Union Contract

Workers at Tyson Foods’ Amarillo beef processing plant have approved a new four-year union contract that delivers substantial pay raises, expanded benefits, and increased time off.

Teamsters Local 577 announced late Wednesday, July 2nd that 93% of voting members ratified the deal — a move the union called its strongest contract ever at the facility, which is the largest beef plant in the United States.

The new agreement follows months of negotiations and a credible strike threat from the union, which represents more than 3,600 workers at the Amarillo plant. Union leaders say the contract includes a 32% wage increase over four years, enhanced retirement benefits, and additional paid leave.
