Cash fed cattle prices traded $1-2 higher this morning, and bids are still being passed—especially in the north. Tight supplies of market-ready cattle are making all the difference finally as packers must increase bids in order to cover scheduled harvest.
Texas and Kansas have posted a $155 top and in eastern Nebraska, a major packer has called at $158. There has been some light trade north at $245 dressed and $157 live. What’s occurring today—cash fed cattle prices trading at the highest price for any November since 2014—is a preview of what’s to come in 2023.
